Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium 4: 1

1. Amoxicillin is a β-lactam antibiotic with good broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, and it takes the antibacterial effect into play mainly by inhibiting bacterial cell wall mucopeptide synthesis. Clavulanic acid is a β-lactamase inhibitor which self has only weak antibacterial activity, and can irreversibly combine with the β-lactamase produced by bacteria, thereby effectively improving the bactericidal effect of amoxicillin. With the combination of the two, amoxicillin can be prevented from enzyme hydrolysis of β-lactam.

This product has antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Corynebacterium, Clostridium, Bacillus, Bacillus anthracis, Actinobacterium bovis, and Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Klebsiella, Proteus, Bartonella, Clostridium necrophorum, Bacteroides, Haemophilus, Moraxella, Actinobacterium leprae and Actinobacterium pleuropneumoniae.

This product is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by sensitive bacteria, and infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative sensitive bacteria in dogs and cats.
